George Savage M.D., Founding Partner
 George Savage is a founding partner of Spring Ridge Ventures. He began his venture capital career in 1989 as a member of Mayfield Fund’s Life Sciences Group, continuing with Savage Thompson Management until the formation of Spring Ridge Ventures in 2000. George has been a founder of numerous medical companies including Cell Genesys, CardioRhythm, FemRx and Proteus Biomedical.
George focuses on working with entrepreneurs with early-stage concepts. He particularly emphasizes reducing risk while accelerating the process of moving from idea to market launch.
George holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University College of Engineering, where he graduated magna cum laude and Tau Beta Pi. His Doctor of Medicine degree is from Tufts University School of Medicine, with postgraduate training completed at the University of Massachusetts. His MBA degree is from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. |
